Kinsale is a wonderful place to learn to use the water be it for sailing, powerboating, canoeing, rowing, fishing,… you name it. To the left we have divided up the various subject matters that are relevant, valuable and available to members, future members and people who want to increase their competence levels alike in the Kinsale area.
Kinsale Yacht Club runs formal IRISH SAILING ASSOCIATION (ISA), the National Governing Body in Ireland, approved sailing lessons for junior sailors during the summer months - see details of this on the tab to the left.
In Kinsale there are two commercially run Sailing Schools that are open year round - the KINSALE OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTRE and SOVEREIGN SAILING. Both these establishments provide excellent courses for a variety of different subjects. Many of their courses offer discounts to KYC members. So if it is a Yacht Master Certificate, or a Powerboat Licence or an Instructor Endorsement or basic sailing lessons Kinsale is the place to do it.
