Finishing ninth, but in an act of good sportsmanship and recognising that his team was at fault, Irish skipper Richie Fearon handed over his race declaration stating that Cork was retiring from Race 4.

Thirty four ‘Oppy Mad’ hardy sailors turned up for the Kinsale Yacht Club annual Open Christmas Regatta. Sailors made great efforts to attend this highly competitive event with a good turnout from Tralee, Lough Derg, Dublin and RCYC.

The ‘Figarists’ Return to Kinsale!

Following a thirteen year absence the town of Kinsale will host La Solitaire du Figaro from Thursday 12th to Monday 16th August 2009. Vice Commodore, Alice Kingston, travelled to the Paris Boat Show today for the disclosure of Kinsale as a port of call in the 41st edition of this gruesome single-handed, one-design race.
