Kinsale RNLI has announced Ocean Yachtsman & Bowman Justin Slattery from Wexford as guest speaker at the annual RNLI "Sailing by the Lee" lunch on Friday, 12th February, 2010 at the Maryborough Hotel, Douglas.

In the Chinese Zodiac 2010 is the year of the White Tiger and falls on the 14th of February, Valentines Day. To celebrate and encourage the potential resurgence of our tiger economy and to spread the love Francis will put on a Chinese Feast on Saturday 13 February followed by a ‘Loveday’ Lunch on Sunday 14th February.

ASM-Marine Frostbite Series 2010

The ASM-Marine Frostbite League at Kinsale Yacht Club got off to a flying start on Sunday in superb sailing conditions. Having lost the opening day’s racing the previous Sunday due to a lack of wind; the Race Committee lead by PRO Bruce Mathews were determined to make the most of the prevailing sunshine and a welcome moderate breeze.

The ASM-Marine Frostbite League continued at Kinsale Yacht Club on Sunday 7th February, as the second day of the series was successfully contested over an initial triangular and two subsequent windward-leeward courses.

The ASM-Marine Frostbite League continued at Kinsale Yacht Club last Sunday, 14th February, in glorious sunshine. Light and variable wind of between 8 knots down to zero made the racing very challenging for both the Race Committee and the Competitors. The first race of the day had the fleets beating towards James Fort.

The penultimate day of the ASM-Marine Frostbite Series at Kinsale Yacht Club, enjoyed the continuation of fine weather which recently has been a familiar feature this winter. As the competitors chipped ice from their boats, the Race Committee pondered the feasibility of racing in the forecasted wind strength of zero to four knots.

Burgee in Qingdao’s Olympic Sailing Museum

A Kinsale Yacht Club burgee was presented to and will be put on permanent display in Qingdao’s Olympic Sailing Museum as part of the Donation Ceremony of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Kinsale will host the yachts for the first part of the Irish stopover in July.
