Glandore's party Plan for KYC fleet

27 May, 2016

You are cordially invited to GHYC At Home

Glandore looking forward to welcoming back the Kinsailors
over the June Bank Holiday weekend

The June weekend is the traditional start of the sailing season in Glandore
and GHYC is At Home and ready and waiting for the arrival of the Kinsale
White Sail fleet on Saturday June 4th, after their race down from Kinsale.
First Gun is at 09:55 and the finish is when you hear the welcome hoot at
the finish line in the Community Park in Glandore … just across from all the
lovely bars on the hill.

And the good news is that the bars are all open for business once again
with Hayes Bar and the Glandore Inn both doing food and Caseys as always
doing great pints and sing songs. And we also have the Glandore Bistro
now, down beside the Yacht Club / Pier serving top notch food at very
reasonable prices.

On top of that, GHYC is putting on a BBQ for all the sailors after the race on
the Saturday, in our brand spanking new yard beside our clubhouse (where
there are hot showers on offer for those who feel the need for one!). First
Gun for the BBQ is 6pm – first come, first served with burgers, salads,
baked potatoes and all the usual stuff including cold beer and wine!

We’ll have a ferry service running to get you in and out from your boats and
for those that prefer a firmer bed, there are plenty of B&B bed spaces in
Glandore. To top it all, we’ll give you a glorious send off on Sunday morning
with the local Dragon and Squib fleets rising early to start the race home
with you (First Gun at the very early time of 9.55!)

We really want to encourage as many Kinsailors as possible to come and
bring our At Home event back to the great old party that it once was.

So in short, GHYC is very much AT HOME for the June weekend and is mad
keen to have a fleet of fun Kinsale boats in for the night on Saturday June

Any queries contact Dermot Lanigan in KYC or Vince Tubb, GHYC
Cruiser Class Captain ( and/or 087- 258 5481)

Really looking forward to welcoming you to Glandore on Saturday, June 4th

Karen Horgan (Commodore) & all of the hardworking GHYC
