Position Statement Private Coaching
The objective of KYC Junior Sailing is to provide or facilitate Training and Coaching for all junior members of the club. We believe that all club members should have an equal opportunity to the club's resources subject to them having the capability to benefit from the activity.
It is our intention where there are sufficient numbers of members interested to support additional coaching for those qualified for national trials or teams to a standard that maximises their capabilities.
Club resources such as rib's and infrastructure are made available exclusively for club activities, this includes club supported coaching.
Those who decide to contract a coach privately will not have access to club resources where this activity was not agreed with the committee in advance of the coaching taking place. There will be occasions where the committee will agree to such activities when it is not able to support them through the club’s own internal resources.
The club and committee supports those members who strive to attain excellence in our sport. Members on occasion may need to employ private coaches to achieve this goal, it is our preference that members communicate with the relevant committee member when taking this route.
