REAR COMMODORE HOUSE UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2017

Hi everyone,

It’s hard to believe the end of Summer is nearly upon us already, we are now hitting the ninth month of the year and I don’t know about you but for me it has flown! We had a very busy summer in the club between Sovereigns Cup, Junior Sailing Courses, Half Ton Classic Cup, Squibs…… and on it goes! The evenings are getting shorter but there is still action to be had on the water, so let’s get to it!

SAILING STUFF:

Cruisers continue on Wednesday nights until September the 13th FG 18.25 note the earlier time!

TGIF series continues until the 15th of September FG 18.25

Saturday 9th The Mary P race to Cork

KYC AT HOME FEATURING THE DAUNT RACE Sunday 17th

The AT HOME will feature a FREE BBQ to our members to thank you all for all the help, support and input throughout the year, as a club, we depend on this spirit of support to help us with all classes of sailing and for this we thank you all most sincerely!

HOUSEKEEPING:

Sailing suppers will continue to be served while racing continues, Mick our top notch chef has informed me that he intends to keep club dining going at the weekends for as long as they are being supported with THEME NIGHTS ON FRIDAYS , he will start off with a TAPAS NIGHT on Friday 29th (as he will be just back from Espana he will have lots of fresh new ideas!!) at €20 great value indeed! Saturday 30th he will host a SUPPER CLUB with music €40pp for four courses, wow!

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:

Laying up Supper 2017 will be on Friday 3rd of November
Adults Christmas Party on Friday 22nd of December
Mick has asked to inform you that he will be available 14,15,16,17th of December if any of our members wish to avail of the club to hold a staff party, please give Mick a call.

Lastly, we held a NEW YEARS EVE PARTY last year and we need to ascertain if there is any interest in doing so again this year and if we are we would need to start organising, so with this in mind, I have opened a page in the blue book behind the bar for anyone interested and approx. how many guests, this is open to members and guests and I would encourage you to get cracking on this one please!

As always, if you would like to book a private function (many of you have Thank You) please contact myself or Mick, we are only too happy to help out in any way we can, these functions are vital to the club coffers!

Looking forward to seeing you INHOUSE!!
