Sir Robin Knox-Johnston Honors Winners at Axiom Private Clients Spring Series Day 4

Sunday, April 21st dawned with sunshine and flat seas, setting the stage for another great day of racing at Kinsale Yacht Club.  Despite the lovely weather, the wind proved to be a bit capricious, starting light and growing even lighter as the day progressed. Yet, this only added to the challenge and excitement as competitors navigated their way through the shifting conditions.

Despite the fickle winds, the skippers and crews showcased their skills and determination out on the water.  With courses adjusted to ensure fair racing for all, the competition remained fierce across all fleets.

After 4 Axiom Series races, Class 1 IRC & Echo are both lead by Denis & Annamarie Murphy’s Nieulargo (RCYC), Stephen Lysaght’s Reavra Too (KYC) and James & David Dwyer’s Swuzzlebubble (RCYC) are 2nd and 3rd respectively. White Sail Fleet, again both IRC & Echo, is lead by Alan Mulcahy in Apache (KYC).  John O’Connor in Fast Buck (RCYC) is lying 2nd in IRC with Patrick Beckett’s Miss Charlie( KYC) at 3rd.  In Echo first & second are the same with the Cotter/Falvey boat Swift(KYC), in 3rd.

Back on shore, we had the honor of welcoming none other than Sir Robin Knox-Johnston to the club. A true legend in the sailing world, Sir Robin’s surprise visit added an extra layer of magic to the day.  To the delight of all, he personally presented the day’s prizes to our deserving winning skippers, making it an unforgettable moment for everyone present.  Thank you Sir Robin from all at Kinsale Yacht Club!
