The Blue Haven Group Mid-Week Series 2 commenced with the first race in stunning sailing conditions.  A consistent 10-knot south-westerly breeze and a flat sea set the stage for a thrilling competition.

Sponsored once again by The Blue Haven Group, the series offers excellent prizes, adding to the excitement.

Class One IRC: Michael Carroll’s Chancer narrowly clinched first place with a mere 29-second lead over John Godkin’s Godot, followed by Stephen Lysaght’s Reavra in third.

Class One Echo: In a reversal of roles, Godot took the top spot, with Chancer in second and Sean O’Riordan’s Y-Dream securing third.

Class Two IRC: Dave O’Sullivan and John O’Regan’s No Notions achieved another victory, while Mathilde and Gérard Campbell’s Cirrus finished second. Patrick Beckett’s Miss Charlie claimed third place.

Class Two Echo: Mirroring Class One, the positions swapped with Cirrus taking honors, No Notions in second, and Miss Charlie again in third.

Class Three: A growing fleet of seven boats saw Alan Mulcahy’s Apache dominate both IRC and Echo.  Richard Hanley’s Saoirse secured second in IRC, while Padraig O’Donovan’s Chameleon held onto second in Echo.  Paul Cotter (Class Captain) and Dominic Falvey’s Swift came in third in both categories.

Class Captain Paul Cotter expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and competition, highlighting the series’ growing popularity.

With excellent conditions and fierce competition, race one has set a high standard for the rest of the Blue Haven Group Mid-Week Series 2.
