Kinsale Yacht Club boats came home from Schull with two class wins from Quintas Capital Calves Week 2026 and a Kinsale hand in a third.

Finbarr O’Regan’s J/109 Artful DodJer took IRC 1. Tuesday’s opener went her way by nine seconds corrected from Barry Cunningham’s Chimaera, with Pat Kelly’s Storm two seconds further back. A Thursday retirement handed the class lead to Chimaera, leaving Finbarr needing to beat his rival on the water on the final day. Finny did it in style, first over the line. That last race won him ORC 1 too: level on four points with Chimaera again, the two J/109s traded the lead all week and Friday settled it, O’Regan first and his rival third.

Ray Hanley’s Yamaha 25 Toroloco won ECHO 4 with very nice consistent sailing. Four days, four different race winners and Toroloco on the podium behind every one of them. Toroloco was second in IRC 4. Well done Ray and crew!

Kieron Kelliher, sailing with Royal Cork’s Colman Garvey, won IRC 3 aboard the quarter tonner Illegal. Level on four points with George Radley’s Tuco, the pair split the week between them: Radley won the opening two, Illegal answered with back to back wins and the final race decided it. She was also third in ECHO 3.
Stephen Lysaght’s Elan 333 Reavra Too was third in ECHO 2.
Vincent Murphy and Nigel Dann took Val Kriss to ninth of sixteen in ECHO 3.
Sean O’Riordan and John Murphy were fifth in an eleven-boat WS ECHO 1 on Y Dream.
“Well done to everyone from Kinsale Yacht Club who made the trip west this year.
You did the Club very proud.”
