Getting to Kinsale

Important: Before you arrive into Kinsale town, drive directly to the Dragon trailer park at Kinsale Rugby Club (Google Maps use postcode: PG45 X2), where we will hold the Dragons securely until craning in.

Ferry Routes: Ireland is exceptionally well served by ferries from the UK and France via the ports of Dublin, Rosslare, and Cork. As you will see below, we have negotiated discounts with Ferry companies.

  • DFDS Ferry from Dunkirk – Rosslare. Circa 25% discount available. Please email and quote Dragon Gold Cup 2024 to avail of discount

  • Irish Ferries: For booking a ferry for the Gold Cup from either Holyhead or Pembroke, competitors should contact and quote the code GP14 when emailing their booking request. They can do the whole booking process through the staff at Irish Ferries Club Deals (not through the Irish Ferries website) and get a 15% discount. The discount period starts from August 16th, for boats wishing to travel to Dun Laoghaire for the Grade 1 Irish Nationals. The discount period ends on September 16th.

  • Stena Line: We have agreed a 10% discount with Stena Line. For the discount codes, email Colm Dunne at

  • Brittany Ferries: Our friends in Douarnenez have kindly organised a discount with Brittany Ferries – a 5% discount on travel in July and August 2024, and 10% in September 2024. Please note the discount does not apply to on-board services (cabins, seats, etc.). For operational purposes, interested parties should make their reservation, pay the required deposit, and Brittany Ferries will then give you a booking number. Please then email this booking number to, so that he can apply with Brittany Ferries. The discount will be applied to the outstanding balance.
