Vice Commodore's Update No.3 of 2016

Hello Sailors….

The sailing season is now well underway and the Dinghy Park and Marina are both a hive of activity. A large fleet of thirty Oppies were out training every day after Easter and the Spring Series is up and running under the watchful eye of RO Neil J Prendeville.

I want to advise you that, as part of our Race Officer development program, KYC
intend to run a Local Race Officer training course later in the season. It is important to our Club’s development that we add to our panel of RO’s and maintain KYC’s excellence in race management. If you are interested in attending this course and becoming a Local Race Officer please contact me on 086 2575434 or email soonest.

In addition please note that the ISA is running a Race Officer training weekend on 9th & 10th of April at the Royal Irish Yacht Club. This course is aimed at our existing Local Race Officer’s who wish to progress to the next level. Please contact Sarah-Louise Rossiter for more information.

That’s it for now, see you on the water soon.

David J O’Sullivan.
Vice Commodore.
