House Update for November

22 November, 2016

Hi all,

It’s hard to believe that the Christmas Season is nearly upon us, the weeks are just flying by! I’m sure you all remember the fabulous “Floating Crib” we had on the marina last year which was very popular with both locals and members of the club. Kinsale Christmas organisers have requested the use of the marina again this year, which we have agreed to, what they are proposing this year is to have a torch lit parade down the pier road passing the crib and finishing in the Yacht Club with a disco! This will happen on Sunday 4th of December after the town lights are switched on at 5.30pm. With this in mind, any boat owners on the marina are encouraged to light up their boats for the Kinsale Christmas.
Pool Room Floor update:
A contractor has now been appointed to carry out the necessary work on the floor in the pool room to ensure the safety of our members, we hope this remedial work can be carried out as soon as possible so we can reopen the room to you, I will update you when I have any further information and we thank the members for their patience with this.
Sailing Stuff:
The Cruiser Class AGM will be held this Thursday 24th of November at 8pm, the Class Captain would encourage as many of you as possible to attend this meeting.
The club AGM will hopefully be held on Thursday 1st of December, this date is yet to be confirmed and we will keep you posted.
White Sail:
There are two Sundays of White Sail racing for the Winter Series left, finishing on Sunday 4th of December, this is proving to be a very popular event with good numbers on the water each week!
Junior Sailing:
The Junior Sailing Christmas Regatta will be held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of December.
Other Stuff:
The KYC Kids Christmas Party will be held on Sunday 11th of December at 2.30pm with the “Big Man in the Red Suit” arriving at 3pm, this is a fantastic family day in the club, not to be missed!!
The KYC Big Kids Party for the adults will be on Saturday 17th of December at 7pm, the standard of Tacky Christmas Jumpers and Outfits was amazing last year and I’m sure will be even further improved this year, really looking forward to it!!
New Year’s Eve:
Tickets are on sale for the New Year’s Eve Party at €40pp for dinner and music which is great value for money, this event is open to members and guests and on a first come basis, should be a great night!
As always, if you would like to book a private function in the club, give me a shout!
Before I go, I would like to remind you that the Gunsmoke Bell Trophy Race for Cruisers will be on Monday 26th of December FG 13.25.

Looking forward to seeing you all in the club over the Festive Season!
