Christmas Greetings from Sue

13 December, 2016

Season’s Greetings To You!

What a fantastic time we had in Kinsale Yacht Club last Sunday for the Kids Christmas Party, thank you to Pat Bertoletti for organising this event yet again and a big shout out to Santa for turning up on the day and giving us all such a happy time!

Next Saturday the 17th we have THE BIG KIDS PARTY starting with a Happy Hour from 7 to 8pm, finger food and music, the standard of really dodgy Christmas jumpers and outfits was amazing last year and I’m sure will be even better this year! This is a great informal way to meet up with everyone and is not to be missed!

The KYC NEW YEARS PARTY is back! Tickets are on sale in the bar at €40 for dinner and music, this event is open to members and guests, tickets will be on sale until Thursday the 29th of December and are on a first come basis so don’t delay! Should be epic!

The final sailing event in our calendar THE GUNSMOKE BELL is on Monday 26th of December FG 13.25. Soup and rolls will be available to purchase in the bar after racing (to give you a break from turkey leftovers!)

Winter opening hours as usual up to Christmas.
Mon 26th Dec Bar open from 10am
Tues 27th Coffee morning as usual. Bar open from 4pm
Wed 28th Dec The bar will be closed for the annual staff party
Thurs 29th Dec Bar open from 4pm

Thereafter usual winter opening hours.

Just to remind you all that the KYC Sailing Calendar is on the club website and you can also download it to your smart phone!

A date for your diary: Thursday 22nd Dec Kinsale Yacht Club AGM

The first of the KYC Presentation nights is coming up on Thursday January 19th at 7.30pm, the theme of this presentation is “SAILING AROUND THE WORLD – FOLLOW YOUR DREAM”. This will be presented by Dave Hennessy, who as you all know has done just that! Promises to be a most interesting topic and slideshow.

A big huge thank you to Brian, Mick and all the staff for making life easier for me during the year! I would also like to thank those of you who supported your club during the year either in the bar, dining room or private functions, this support is really vital for the club!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the management committee on everyone’s behalf for giving up so much time to keep the club running.
Now all that’s left for me to say is Saturday night is coming “Where’s Me Jumper?”

Have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year!

See you in the club!
