Rear Commodore House Update April 2018

03 April, 2018

Hi all,

They say that Spring is a time of rebirth and change, and that my friends is what we are currently facing into in Kinsale Yacht Club!

It is with a heavy heart that I now inform you that our club chef Mick Glynn has decided to leave us and has now gone. Mick provided us with really top quality dining in the club over the last three years. We were very lucky to have him for this time and perhaps he was taken for granted because he was so easy going to deal with. I know he was very popular with the members but unfortunately he never really knew where he stood catering wise because our members are very relaxed with regard to booking. It is difficult for someone in his position, being self employed, to make a living in this way and I’m sure that I speak for everyone when I say that he will be sorely missed in the club. We thank him for his hard work over the years with us! Any advance private bookings made with Mick will be honoured by him, so no need to panic on that front. Club management are currently in the process of putting some sort of arrangement in place to cover sailing suppers from next month and we will let you know when this is sorted out.

See you in the Club,

Sue Horgan
