Rear Commodore House Update July 2018

29 June, 2018

Hi everyone,
What a scorcher! It’s great to see so many out on the water enjoying the Mediterranean conditions and long may it last! What a fantastic night we had with Ron Holland last week, Ron was blown away by the turnout on the night. The books sold out very quickly and well done to the boys, Sean, Darren,
Jerome and Ben on their very successful fundraiser for Sail Training Ireland.

Sailing Stuff:
Congrats to Lobster and Siboney on their endeavours in the Yachting Monthly Triangle Race, the final results are not out yet but both yachts were second over the line in their classes in the final leg, great job, well done! We would also like to send our best wishes to Cian McCarthy and Dave Gibbons on Eos as they prepare for the start of the Round Ireland Race this weekend, good luck and fair sailing!

Junior Sailing:
Junior Sailing Course starts next Monday 2nd July and John Stallard has informed that it is FULLY BOOKED OUT!

I would just like to remind our members that the slipway will be in constant use over the coming weeks with the sailing course on, so be prepared for that and be mindful of young children crossing the road in front of the dinghy park!

Micheal O’Suilleabhain and Michael Carroll are off this weekend to compete in the 420 European Championships in Portugal. We wish them the best of luck and fair sailing!

As always, if you would like to book a private party or function in the club, please get in touch and we will help in any way we can!
That’s it for now, enjoy Costa del Kinsale while  we have the great weather, and as the RNLI are constantly reminding us, be safe on and in the water!
