Kinsale Yacht Club was buzzing on Sunday, September 22nd, as sailors gathered for the Victoria’s Antiques Kinsale At Home Event.  It was an afternoon of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship, with great competition across all fleets.

In the White Sail Echo Fleet, Albert O’Neill’s Starlet dominated the race, taking first place with impressive precision.  Patrick Beckett’s Miss Charlie claimed second, while Martin Hargrove’s Deboah rounded off the podium in third.

The White Sail Echo Spinnaker Fleet saw Michael Carroll’s Chancer lead, securing victory in a thrilling finish.  David Riome’s Valfreya and Gavin Lawlor’s Genesis took second and third, respectively, adding to the excitement.

The Squib Fleet showcased Sean Murphy’s Crackers sailing to triumph. Ian Traver’s Atomic earned a respectable second place, with Denis Cudmore’s Sensation taking third.

Young talent shone in the Optimist Fleet, where Annabelle Wilson outpaced the competition to take first, with Dylan O’Sullivan from RCYC and Joe Kingston finishing in second and third.  It was fantastic to see 15 boats compete.

In the Mixed Dinghy Fleet, the sibling duo Pierce and Phelim Hanley clinched the top spot in their 420, followed closely by Sarah Thuilier and Lucy Foster.  Savah Glavin, sailing a Laser, secured third place.

The Hanse Fleet saw Philip and Brendan Murphy sail to victory, while Mark and Aidan Terry took second, and Alan Mulcahy and Eva Griffin Dunphy finished third.

The day concluded with a lively atmosphere at the clubhouse, where participants and guests enjoyed a BBQ during the prize-giving ceremony, celebrating a successful and memorable afternoon of racing at Kinsale Yacht Club.
