The Axiom Private Clients Spring Series 2025 came to a spectacular close on Saturday, April 26th, at Kinsale Yacht Club, delivering an exhilarating finale after weeks of great competition.  Under Race Officer Michele Kennelly’s expert management, a foggy morning gave way to sunshine and steadily building southwesterly winds — perfect conditions for a final showdown.

Eighteen boats lined up for the concluding race, where light airs at the start built into lively breezes, setting the stage for nail-biting action.  After five fiercely contested races, Jelly Belly (Jones Family, RCYC) sealed the deal in IRC Class 1, their J122 GP slicing through the competition with clinical precision.  Hot on their heels, Nieulargo (Denis and Annamarie Murphy, RCYC) delivered a polished series to grab second, while Artful DodJer (Finbar O’Regan, KYC) proved their mettle with a third-place finish.

IRC Class 2 saw Diamond (Kieran Kelleher, KYC) sparkle brightest, fending off challenges from Flyover (Waterford Harbour SC) and Magnet (Kieran O’Brien/Florentina Stanciu, RCYC).  In White Sail, Apache (Alan Mulcahy, KYC) was untouchable, storming to victory with four race wins.  Valfreya (David Riome, KYC) and Genesis (Gavin & Grace Lawlor) completed the podium, with Privateer (Dermot Lanigan, KYC) earning a well-deserved third in Echo White Sail.

Celebrations continued ashore with a packed prize-giving ceremony, where series sponsor Tom Roche of Axiom Private Clients honoured the outstanding achievements of all competitors.  A huge thank you was extended to Axiom Private Clients for their generous support, and to the dedicated Kinsale Yacht Club staff and volunteers who made the event such a triumph both afloat and ashore.
