Race One of the 2025 La Bougie Mid-Week Series at Kinsale Yacht Club commenced under serene conditions, setting the stage for a tactical evening of sailing. Twelve boats across three classes took to the water, greeted by a consistent southeast breeze of 6–7 knots and a strong ebbing tide.

Race Officer Anthony O’Neill wisely opted to keep the fleet within the harbour, ensuring manageable conditions for the opening race.  Despite the light winds, the combination of tidal flow and strategic mark placements demanded precise sailing and keen awareness from all competitors.

The post-race atmosphere at the clubhouse was lively, with sailors gathering to enjoy great food from the kitchen and generous prizes provided by sponsors Peter and Lucy Hagerty of La Bougie.  Their continued support adds a touch of elegance to the series, enhancing the camaraderie and competitive spirit that define Kinsale’s mid-week racing tradition.
