The Kinsale Yacht Club – Squib Series 2, proudly sponsored by Event Falcon, wrapped up in style on Thursday, 31st of July after 6 weeks and 12 fiercely contested races. The final evening served up two exhilarating races in a gusty north-westerly breeze that touched 20 knots, testing the fleet.
Reigning champions Flora, helmed by Bobby Nash with crew Una Leader, proved their class once again, securing the overall title and lifting the Event Falcon trophy for the second year running. Hot on their heels, Banshee (Matthias Hellstern and Alex Goggin) claimed second, while Crackers (Sean and Paul Murphy) took third after a consistent campaign.
In the Silver Fleet, Pot Black (Alan Mulcahy and Philip Murphy) triumphed, adding further excitement to a memorable series.
The action continues as Series 3 gets underway on the 7th of August, promising another six weeks of competitive Squib racing at Kinsale Yacht Club.
