TBD sailed to victory in style at the Zurich Irish National Dragon Championships 18th – 21st of Sept 2025, held at Kinsale Yacht Club over five demanding races that tested the 10-boat fleet.
The championship-winning crew of James Matthews, David Good, and Fergal O’Hanlon aboard TBD (IRL 219) demonstrated exceptional consistency throughout the series.
The podium battle proved intensely competitive, with both second and third place finishing tied on 13 points. Phantom (IRL 225), helmed by the experienced trio of Hegarty, Bowring, and Williams from Royal St. George Yacht Club, claimed silver despite an early setback with a UFD penalty in race two. The bronze medal went to local favourites Little Fella (IRL 211), with Good, Furney, and Lewis representing Kinsale Yacht Club.
Kinsale Yacht Club provided their usual impeccable race management, conducting the series on the challenging waters off the Old Head of Kinsale. A special shout out to our Race Officers.
