The Axiom Private Clients April Series delivered some thrilling and challenging conditions for competitors and race team alike. The cancellation of Day One on 6th April was quickly forgotten after a cracking two-race day on 12th April, sailed in a lumpy sea with winds ranging from 7 to 28 knots. Racing continued in more favourable breezes for the rest of the series, with five races completed in all.

Our sincere thanks go to Tom Roche for his continued generous sponsorship of this SCORA league, which drew visitors from Schull, Waterford and Crosshaven. The daily prizes once again proved hugely popular with the sailors.

Full results are here, the silverware winners are:

Fleet 1 IRC – Artful Dodger (Finbar O’Regan), winning all five races.

Fleet 1 ECHO – Genesis (Gavin Lawlor), staying ahead of all challengers.

Fleet 2 IRC – Illegal (Kieran Kelleher and Coleman Garvey), five wins.

Fleet 2 ECHO – Illegal (Kieran Kelleher and Coleman Garvey), four wins.

White Sail IRC – Valfreaya (David Riome), five wins.

White Sail ECHO – Valfreaya (David Riome), edging out Godot (Alan Mulcahy) by a single point.
