Three Kinsale Dragons recently made the trip to the Royal St. George Yacht Club for the Dragon East Coast Championships 2026.

Over the three days, 5 races were sailed. The 12 boat fleet experienced wind strength ranging from 0 to 25 knots in shifty tidal conditions.

Unfortunately, for the KYC contingent, it was host boat Phantom who adapted best, winning the championships with 9 points. Tied on 11 points were 3 boats including two Kinsale dragons.

TBD (James Matthews, Dave Good & Fergal O’Hanlon) had a race win which gave them 2nd overall on countback from Whisper (Brian Goggin, Daniel Murphy, Sean Murphy & Tadgh Wright) who took 3rd place.

Little Fella (Cameron Good, Simon Furney & Eoghan O’Neill), despite two race wins finished on 13 points and 5th overall.
