Three days into the 704 nautical mile Round Ireland Race and the front of the fleet is already well up the Atlantic coast and rounding the top of the country.

Tuesday evening’s provisional results keep all three of our Kinsale crew firmly in contention.

Loinnir Girl, the Lough Ree and Kinsale combo of John Malone (LRYC), Emmet Sheridan (LRYC), Sam Hunt (KYC) and Cian McCarthy (KYC), has slipped off the top of IRC Class 3 but you would barely notice. She holds third and has not lost that sparkle, with Irish rival The Big Picture a little over twenty minutes up the road on corrected time. Overall pacesetter Bellino is leading the class but this one is far from settled.  “Go Malone…Go…”

In IRC double-Handed, the Kinsale father and son,Tony and Jack Kingston have Shindig in fourth. The double-handed game rewards patience. There is plenty of racetrack left for the Kingstons to claw it back and no better father and son team to do it!

“Kinsale is with you all the way…”

Trevor Middleton’s Black Sheep, with Micheal O’Suilleabhain aboard, is third in IRC Class 1 and snapping at the heels of Pata Negra, under forty minutes behind on corrected.
