The La Bougie Midweek Series 2 closed out on Wednesday evening July 29th with the breeze the fleet had been waiting for. A steady south-westerly in the mid-teens, gusting higher, under the sunshine that made July one of the warmest and driest on record.

IRC 1

Finbarr O’Regan’s J/109 Artful DodJer was untouchable. Five wins from six starts and the series never really in doubt.

Dan Buckley’s J/109 Justus took second. Consistently the next boat home.

Stephen Lysaght’s Elan 333 Reavra Too completed the podium.

ECHO 1

The handicap flipped it. Gavin Lawlor’s Elan 333 Genesis timed her run perfectly, closing the series with two seconds and a win to take the title.

Artful DodJer and Justus could not be separated on the water. The tie went to O’Regan on countback, with Buckley third.

IRC 2

Patrick Beckett’s Tofinou 8 Miss Charlie held her nerve for the win.

Mathilde Dingemans and Gerard Campbell’s Elan 31 Cirrus pushed her all the way and settled for second.

Samuel Cohen’s First 32 Gunsmoke II took third.

ECHO 2

A straight swap at the top. Cirrus turned the tables on Miss Charlie to win the class, with Patrick Beckett second.

Nigel Dann’s First 345 Val Kriss claimed third on the back of a strong finish, a third, a win and a third across the closing races.

IRC 3

Raymond Hanley’s Yamaha 25 Toroloco found form when it mattered, winning two of the final three races to seal it.

Jakub Belica’s GK 24 Guinness Kann took second, having won three races including the opening two.

Padraig O’Donovan’s Fastnet 34 Chameleon was third.

ECHO 3

Martin Hargrove’s Impala 28 Deboah took the number one spot.

Toroloco backed up her IRC result with second. Guinness Kann took third.
