Junior racing made a welcome return this July, with over 20 boats out racing each Tuesday evening.

Bill Appelbe coordinated the racing and Tim Cronin took charge as Race Officer, backed up by a great gang of parents helping both on and off the water.

Fun was the top priority. The aim was to give everyone a good evening afloat, whether you have been racing for years or you have just finished your sailing course and this was your first taste of a start line.

In the Topper fleet, Rory Buckley was Mr Consistent and took the win. Second was his sister Síofra Buckley, just back from representing Ireland in the Optimist class. Annabelle Goggin finished third, Grace Appelbe fourth and Annabelle Wilson fifth.

In the Oppie fleet, Ally O’Riordan took the win, with Olaf Sorensen second and Penny Sorensen third.

A big thank you to O’Leary Life for their generous sponsorship.

Racing carries on every Tuesday evening through August, with the league sponsored by the Kinsale Collective.

See you on the water.
