Kinsale Yacht Club Cruise in Company
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May 2024 to Naval Services Yacht Squadron.

This cruise is being organised by Kinsale Yacht Club. The organisers will provide as much information as possible to participants prior to the commencement of the cruise. However, each boat skipper is individually responsible for their own safety and that of their crew. No responsibility rests with the organisers. Information is given in good faith. This must be used with due regard to the norms of good seamanship, weather, knowledge of the limitations of their own vessel, crew experience and equipment on board. Each vessel must be adequately insured and carry adequate safety equipment.

Fees.
Payment for the BBQ must be paid to the KYC bar before Tuesday the 30th April or alternatively via this web page. There is no facility to pay at the BBQ.

Please be aware that we will be berthed in a military base. There is a 15 minute walk from the pontoon to the officers mess where the BBQ will be held. Please do not discharge your heads overboard within the basin, naval divers train there.

Sunday HW 4.21 LW 11.00

Arrival times at Haulbowline Saturday afternoon are scheduled. This is to facilitate rafting the larger boats to the pontoon first. There will be members of the Yacht Squadron on hand to assist.

Boats 40 ft + to arrive at 16.15
Boats 35 ft + to arrive at 16.45
Boats less than 35 ft at 17.15

Departure Sunday the 5th before noon.

Port of Cork use VHF channel 12 as their working channel. Please monitor this channel while you are within the the port area. Cork Harbour have a leisure craft guidance sheet on their website, it is worth having a look at this. Cork Coast Guard’s VHF working channel is 02

There is plenty of depth with the Haulbowline basin. Please be aware there may be a cross current at the entrance to the Haulbowline basin.
